The
Data Protection Commission of Ghana has honored the Turkish Ambassador to
Ghana, H.E. Hüseyin Güngör, in recognition of his contribution to strengthening
bilateral cooperation in technology and innovation, as well as his support for
initiatives promoting secure digital development and cross-border trust in data
protection.
The
recognition follows the Commission’s February 2026 conference themed “Your
Data, Your Identity: Building Trust in Ghana’s Digital Future,” which convened
key stakeholders to deliberate on issues including data ownership, digital
sovereignty, digital identity, and the role of trust in accelerating digital
transformation.

According
to the Commission, Ambassador Güngör has played an active role in supporting
partnerships that advance secure and responsible use of data in Ghana’s growing
digital economy, particularly through fostering collaboration between Ghana and
Turkey in technology-related sectors.
The
Commission noted that the engagement at the conference highlighted the
importance of international cooperation in strengthening regulatory frameworks
and building resilient digital ecosystems that safeguard citizen data while
enabling innovation.
Officials
say such partnerships are critical to advancing Ghana’s digital agenda,
especially as the country continues to expand its digital infrastructure and
deepen public trust in emerging technologies and data governance systems.
