SeerBit, a leading pan-African payments
company, today announced its integration with PayPal, enabling merchants across
its supported markets to accept payments directly from PayPal users at
checkout.
Through this integration, customers shopping
on SeerBit-powered platforms can now choose PayPal alongside cards, bank transfers,
and mobile money, while allowing merchants to manage all transactions in one
place. The feature enhances buyer confidence, reduces cart abandonment, and
improves conversion rates; all key factors in global e-commerce success.
This integration comes at a crucial time when
cross-border digital trade across Africa is accelerating, fuelled by rising
internet adoption, a surge in e-commerce activity and growing demand for
frictionless online payments. Merchants can now receive international payments
in real time, expand their customer base globally, and compete more confidently
in the digital economy, limited payment options, and fragmented checkout
experiences.
Beyond merchant impact, this milestone
strengthens Africa’s position in the global digital trade landscape. As
regional markets prepare for deeper integration under the African Continental
Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), accessible and interoperable payment infrastructure
will be central to enabling African businesses to scale and participate
competitively on the world stage.
“African businesses have the talent and
products to compete globally; the missing link has often been access to
trusted, convenient payment options,” said Omoniyi Kolade, CEO of SeerBit. “By
integrating PayPal, we’re bridging that gap for merchants, helping them build
credibility with global customers and making it easier for the world to do
business with Africa.”
“Africa is a fast-growing region for digital
commerce, driven by increasing connectivity and a new generation of digitally
native businesses. Our integration with SeerBit is important in helping
merchants reach more international customers, build trust and support growth
beyond their local markets,” said Amir Valliani, Vice President, Global Markets,
PayPal.
With this milestone, SeerBit reinforces its
position at the forefront of Africa’s digital economy, driving inclusion,
building trust, and shaping how Africa engages with the world through commerce.
