Valeo
Group has marked two decades of operations in Egypt with the inauguration of a
global artificial intelligence development centre in Cairo, underscoring the
country’s growing role as a hub for software engineering and research and
development.
The
milestone was highlighted during a high-level meeting where Egypt’s Prime
Minister Mostafa Madbouly received Valeo’s global leadership delegation,
alongside senior government officials including Minister of Communications and
Information Technology Raafat Hendy and Chief Executive Officer of the
Information Technology Industry Development Agency, Ahmed Elzaher.

Valeo’s
presence in Egypt has expanded significantly since its establishment in 2005,
growing from 25 engineers to more than 3,000 today. The company’s Egypt
operations now represent one of its largest global R&D software centres,
contributing approximately half of its worldwide software production, with
outputs serving international markets.
The
company’s growth in Egypt has been driven by sustained investment in talent
development, expansion of technical capabilities, and integration into global
engineering networks. Its local operations play a key role in developing
advanced mobility technologies, including electrification systems, advanced
driver assistance solutions, and software-defined vehicle platforms.

As
part of its expansion, Valeo has launched a new AI Development Centre in Cairo,
aimed at accelerating the integration of artificial intelligence across its
operations and advancing next-generation mobility solutions.
The
visit by Valeo’s leadership included engagements with government officials and
on-site reviews of engineering operations, reflecting continued collaboration
between the public and private sectors to strengthen Egypt’s position in the
global technology and innovation landscape.
