The Chief Executive Officer of MTN Ghana, Stephen Blewett has underscored the company’s “force for good” philosophy, describing it as a core business principle that goes beyond traditional corporate social responsibility and reflects its wider role in Ghana’s economic development.

Speaking during a fireside chat at the MTN Ghana Media and Stakeholders Forum in Accra, held under the theme “MTN Ghana @30: Connecting Ghana, Shaping the Digital Future,” the CEO explained that the philosophy defines how the company operates as a national partner rather than solely a commercial entity.

He said “force for good” is embedded in MTN Ghana’s strategy and is reflected in its contributions to national revenue through taxes and regulatory fees, its sustained investment in critical infrastructure, and its support for small and medium-sized enterprises across the country.

According to him, the company’s impact extends beyond philanthropy or community projects, stressing that its core operations directly support economic growth. He noted that MTN Ghana contributes a significant share to government fiscal revenues and continues to align its investments with national development priorities.

Mr. Blewett also highlighted ongoing investments in network expansion and digital infrastructure, stating that these initiatives are designed to strengthen connectivity, enable business growth, and improve access to digital services for individuals and enterprises.

The CEO further explained that supporting small businesses remains a key part of the strategy, as improved connectivity and digital tools allow entrepreneurs to expand their reach and participate more effectively in the digital economy.

He concluded that MTN Ghana’s “force for good” philosophy is about creating shared value, where business growth and national development progress together, positioning the company as a long-term partner in Ghana’s economic transformation.
