The
Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations is set to
officially launch Ghana’s National Artificial Intelligence (AI) Strategy on
April 24, 2026, at the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra.
The
high-level event is expected to bring together policymakers, industry leaders,
technology experts, and development partners to outline the country’s roadmap
for leveraging AI to drive economic growth, innovation, and public sector
transformation.
According
to event details, the strategy will focus on positioning Ghana as a competitive
player in the global digital economy by strengthening AI infrastructure,
fostering talent development, and promoting responsible and ethical AI adoption
across key sectors.
The
launch forms part of broader national efforts to accelerate digital
transformation and align emerging technologies with Ghana’s development
priorities. It is also expected to highlight partnerships with private sector
stakeholders supporting the country’s digital ecosystem.
However,
despite its relevance to the continent’s technology and innovation landscape, TechReview
Africa was not invited to attend the launch. The publication, which has
consistently covered major digital and technology developments across Africa,
is expected to follow proceedings and provide independent editorial coverage of
the strategy and its implications.
The
rollout of the National AI Strategy comes at a time when countries across
Africa are increasingly prioritising artificial intelligence as a tool for
improving service delivery, boosting productivity, and enhancing
competitiveness in a rapidly evolving global digital environment.
