Rwanda
has been recognised by the World Bank Group for its strong performance on the
newly launched Human Capital Index+ (HCI+), emerging as a top performer
relative to its income level.
The
award was presented in Washington, D.C. by the World Bank’s Vice President for
People, Mamta Murthi, during engagements linked to the Spring Meetings.
The
Human Capital Index+ assesses how effectively countries translate investments
in health, education, and employment into productivity outcomes, providing a
broader measure of human capital development.

According
to the World Bank, Rwanda’s recognition reflects sustained progress in key
areas, including healthcare delivery, learning outcomes, and skills
development.
Officials
noted that the achievement highlights the country’s continued focus on building
a productive and skilled population capable of supporting long-term economic
growth.
The
recognition places Rwanda among leading performers in leveraging human capital
investments to drive development outcomes.
