Gabon
has underscored the central role of digital technology in its economic
transformation agenda during the 3rd UK-Gabon Trade and Investment Forum, where
discussions focused on strengthening partnerships and advancing digital
sovereignty.
The
Director General of the National Agency for Digital Infrastructure and
Frequencies (ANINF), Alberto Mounguengui Moudoki, participated in the
high-level meeting between representatives of the Gabonese Republic and the
United Kingdom, which explored investment opportunities and strategic
cooperation.

Discussions
reaffirmed that digital infrastructure now serves as a cross-cutting foundation
for key sectors including transport, health, energy, finance, and tourism, all
of which depend on secure, interconnected, and resilient systems.
A
key focus of the engagement was Law 037 on digitalisation, which provides a
regulatory framework for Gabon’s digital transformation. Officials noted that
the legislation strengthens system interoperability, governance, and security,
positioning Gabon as a more predictable environment for digital investment.
The
initiative aligns with the national development vision of President Brice
Clotaire Oligui Nguema, which prioritises digitalisation as a lever for
modernising public administration and driving economic growth.

ANINF
reiterated its role as a technical and institutional pillar in the digital
ecosystem, responsible for validating and integrating projects in line with
national standards and ensuring coherence across infrastructure development.
Authorities
stated that Gabon’s long-term objective is to build a sustainable digital
culture grounded in local expertise and guided by sovereign, structured digital
transformation.
