Secondary School in Ebony has received a new cyber lab aimed at enhancing
digital access and skills development among learners, as part of a broader
initiative to bridge the digital divide in underserved communities.
The
project, led by HONOR, includes the donation of laptops valued at over
R200,000, providing students with essential tools to support learning and build
critical digital competencies. The initiative reflects growing efforts by
private sector players to support education through technology-driven
interventions.

The
cyber lab is expected to serve as a hub for digital learning, enabling students
to gain hands-on experience with modern technologies and better prepare for
future academic and professional opportunities.
To
ensure sustainability and long-term impact, HONOR has partnered with the
Technology Youth Development Agency, a non-profit organisation that will
deliver ongoing digital skills training and mentorship for both learners and
teachers. This approach aims to transform the facility into a functional
platform for continuous learning and innovation rather than a one-time
infrastructure upgrade.

The
launch forms part of HONOR’s wider strategy to deploy cyber labs across South
Africa, targeting schools in underserved areas. The initiative is designed to
improve access to technology, promote digital inclusion, and equip young people
with the skills required to participate in an increasingly digital economy.
