The
Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) has participated
in the First Egyptian Civil Society Forum, a multi-stakeholder platform aimed
at strengthening collaboration and advancing sustainable development through
digital transformation.
The
forum, organized by the Sawiris Foundation for Social Development and CARE
Egypt under the auspices of the Ministry of Social Solidarity, brought together
representatives from key institutions, including the National Alliance for
Civil Development Work (NACDW) and the Civil Society Support Fund (CSF).
The
event served as a platform for dialogue among civil society actors, fostering
the exchange of experiences, strengthening coordination, and exploring
strategies to enhance the sustainability and impact of non-governmental
organizations. Discussions highlighted the sector’s significant contribution to
supporting more than 20 million citizens and its broader role in national
development.
MCIT
contributed to a panel discussion focusing on its efforts to drive digital
transformation and improve the readiness of civil society organizations to
adopt digital tools. The Ministry emphasized the importance of integrating
digital solutions into NGO operations and investing in capacity building to
equip stakeholders with the skills required to operate effectively in an
increasingly digital environment.
Participants
also shared practical insights on leveraging technology to improve efficiency
and align civil society work with evolving digital demands. Broader discussions
during the forum addressed key development priorities, including strengthening
institutional capacity, expanding access to funding, and enhancing the use of
data and evidence in decision-making.
The
forum further examined updates on the NGO Capacity Building Program and the
role of the Civil Society Support Fund in providing financial and technical
assistance, with a focus on promoting locally driven and sustainable
development outcomes.
