Climate has hosted Burkinabe water and environmental engineer and social
entrepreneur Pare Sanandon Annita to explore the role of biogas technologies in
advancing sustainable energy solutions across West Africa.
Annita,
founder of BioAnnigaz, is developing biogas systems that convert organic waste
into clean energy, contributing to improved sanitation and climate resilience
in local communities.

During
her engagement with Dr. Bruno Korgo, Renewable Energy and Green Hydrogen
Coordinator at WASCAL, discussions focused on the potential of scaling biogas
innovations to support energy transitions in Burkina Faso and the wider West
African region.
The
meeting also underscored the need for stronger collaboration between research
institutions and grassroots innovators to accelerate the deployment of
practical, locally driven climate solutions.

WASCAL
reiterated its commitment to fostering partnerships that promote clean energy
innovation and sustainable development, positioning such collaborations as
critical to addressing the region’s environmental and energy challenges.
