Numérique S.A. (SENUM SA) has participated in the Strategic Workshop of the
West African National Backbones Network (ROA-BN) for the 2026–2030 period, as
regional stakeholders intensify efforts to enhance digital connectivity across
West Africa.
The
two-day workshop, held from April 9 to 10 in Senegal, brought together
representatives from nine member countries—Gambia, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire,
Ghana, Guinea, Mali, Niger, Sierra Leone and Senegal—for high-level technical
and institutional discussions aimed at strengthening regional digital
infrastructure.

Discussions
focused on designing a more efficient, resilient and interoperable connectivity
architecture to support expanded access to digital services across the region.
The initiative aligns with broader ambitions to ensure widespread connectivity
and digital inclusion, with a long-term goal of improving access for
populations across member states by 2033.
The
opening sessions featured strategic networking and benchmarking engagements,
including institutional presentations by national backbone operators,
highlighting their role in advancing digital integration in West Africa.
Participants exchanged best practices in infrastructure governance, broadband
deployment, and operational models.

Through
a series of collaborative technical sessions, stakeholders identified key
priorities and practical measures to accelerate digital transformation efforts,
including enhanced infrastructure sharing and deeper integration of regional
digital markets.
The
workshop is part of ongoing regional efforts to build a cohesive and inclusive
digital ecosystem that supports economic growth and cross-border connectivity
in West Africa.
