The
Dean of the School of Engineering Sciences at the University of Ghana, Elsie
Effah Kaufmann, has called for urgent reforms in education systems to align
with the growing influence of artificial intelligence.
Speaking
as a panellist at the Rethink Africa Intelligence Conference held at the
University of Professional Studies, Accra, Prof. Kaufmann emphasized that AI is
rapidly transforming teaching and learning processes, requiring educators to
rethink curricula and instructional methods.
She
noted that traditional approaches to education must evolve to prepare students
for an increasingly AI-driven world, highlighting the need for adaptive
learning frameworks and skills development that reflect emerging technological
realities.

The
panel discussion also featured G. Ayorkor Korsah, Head of Computer Science and
Information Systems at Ashesi University, and Cecil Senna Nutakor, CEO and
Founder of eCampus LLC. The session was moderated by Stella Gyimaah Larbi.
The
conference brought together stakeholders from academia and the technology
sector to explore the implications of artificial intelligence across
industries, with a strong focus on education and skills development in Africa.
