The
Energy Commission of Ghana and Uganda’s Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA)
have held high-level discussions aimed at strengthening collaboration in energy
regulation, enforcement, and sector performance standards.
The
talks focused on improving regulatory coordination, enhancing grid
infrastructure development, and aligning performance standards across both
countries as part of efforts to improve efficiency in energy service delivery.

Both
institutions agreed to explore the establishment of a formal partnership
framework to support long-term cooperation and knowledge sharing in energy
sector governance.
The
Ghanaian delegation included Deputy Executive Secretary Chris Nana Banyin
Yalley and Acting Director of Inspection and Enforcement Ing. Ampadu
Acheampong. They met with Uganda’s Electricity Regulatory Authority Chief
Executive Officer Zaria Tibalwa Waako and her technical team.

Officials
from both sides said the collaboration is expected to contribute to more
efficient regulatory systems and improved energy reliability in Ghana and
Uganda, supporting broader continental efforts to strengthen power sector
governance.
