Togo
Data Lab has concluded a series of four thematic conferences under the Health
Tech Challenge initiative, aimed at advancing dialogue and innovation in the
country’s healthcare sector.
Held
between 20 February and 14 March, the conference series brought together
experts, entrepreneurs, healthcare professionals, and public sector actors to
explore emerging trends and solutions shaping the future of health systems. The
initiative focused on fostering reflection and collaboration around key areas
including the digitalisation of healthcare services, the application of
artificial intelligence, health insurance systems, and the development of
solutions tailored to African contexts.

Throughout
the sessions, participants examined how digital technologies can improve access
to healthcare and enhance service delivery efficiency. Discussions also
explored the role of artificial intelligence in diagnosis, patient monitoring,
and medical data analysis, alongside strategies to strengthen the inclusiveness
and sustainability of health insurance frameworks.
The
conferences further addressed the process of transforming innovative ideas into
practical, scalable solutions capable of delivering tangible impact across
health systems. Stakeholders shared experiences and insights, contributing to a
broader exchange of knowledge aimed at inspiring locally relevant innovations.

The
Health Tech Challenge is an initiative of Togo’s Ministry of Public Service
Efficiency and Digital Transformation and the Ministry of Health, Public
Hygiene, Universal Health Coverage and Insurance. It is implemented by Togo
Data Lab with support from the Network of Digital Health Actors in Togo and
projects supported by German development cooperation, alongside backing from
European partners.
