Gabon
has officially launched a digitized driving license as part of the country’s
broader efforts to modernize public administration. The initiative, unveiled on
March 24, 2026, was championed by President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema and
jointly supported by the Ministry of Transport, the Merchant Navy in charge of
logistics, and the Ministry of Digital Economy, Digitalization and Innovation.

The
project is implemented with technical assistance from the Agence Nationale des
Infrastructures Numériques et des Fréquences (ANINF), which serves as the
state’s technical arm for digital transformation. Key actors, including the
DGTT, the CNEPC, ANINF, and the local company Rengus Digital, collaborated to
design and deploy the secure digital solution.

The
digitized driving license aims to improve the quality of public services,
streamline administrative processes, and establish a foundation for a more
efficient and user-focused administration in Gabon. ANINF played a central role
in ensuring the solution is secure, accessible, and aligned with the needs of
citizens.
