The Federal
Ministry of Finance of Nigeria has launched the National Single Window platform in
Lagos as part of efforts to modernise trade processes, reduce costs, and
improve overall economic efficiency.
The
initiative was unveiled by Wale Edun, Honourable Minister of Finance and
Coordinating Minister of the Economy, who described the platform as a major
step toward simplifying import and export procedures.

The
National Single Window integrates multiple government agencies into a unified
digital system, enabling faster processing of trade documentation, reducing
delays, and lowering the cost of doing business for enterprises.
According
to the Minister, the reform represents a transition from fragmented systems to
a more coordinated framework that enhances trade facilitation and strengthens
Nigeria’s competitiveness in global markets.
Officials
noted that the platform will also improve transparency, inter-agency
coordination, and revenue collection for government, while providing businesses
with quicker access to markets and reduced administrative burdens.

The
launch forms part of a broader reform agenda aimed at building a more efficient
and investment-ready economy, with authorities emphasizing that ongoing
upgrades to port infrastructure will be essential to fully realise the benefits
of digital trade systems.
