The
National Communication Authority of South Sudan has engaged with experts from the
International Telecommunication Union to advance efforts aimed at strengthening
the security of digital financial services in the country.
The
meeting, held at the NCA headquarters in Juba, was led by Director General
Rizig Dominic Samuel and focused on progress following the completion of the
Digital Financial Services Security Lab Knowledge Transfer Programme.

During
the discussions, the NCA acknowledged the ITU’s technical support in
establishing the DFS Security Lab, which is designed to enhance the Authority’s
capacity to test and verify the security of digital financial service
applications and systems in line with international standards.
Officials
noted that the initiative marks a significant step in improving cybersecurity,
strengthening regulatory oversight, and building trust within South Sudan’s
digital financial ecosystem.

The
DFS Security Lab is expected to play a critical role in supporting the growth
of secure and reliable digital financial services, as the country continues to
expand its digital economy.
