The Agence Nationale des Infrastructures Numériques et des Fréquences has underscored the importance of digital infrastructure and frequency management in advancing technological sovereignty during the 2026 NewSpace Africa Conference in Libreville.

The conference, held under the theme “Inclusive Growth: Expanding the Benefits of Space to All Africans,” brought together policymakers, industry leaders, and stakeholders from across the continent and beyond to discuss the future of Africa’s space and digital ecosystem.

As part of its contribution, ANINF ensured high-performance, secure, and continuous network connectivity throughout the event, supporting seamless communication and operations for participants. The agency indicated that reliable digital infrastructure remains a critical foundation for international engagements of this scale.

Through its exhibition presence, ANINF also showcased its role in advancing national digital transformation, including the development of infrastructure, the digitalisation of public services, and the management of radio frequencies, which are essential to satellite communications and space technologies.

Officials noted that the agency’s participation reflects Gabon’s broader ambition to build a coherent, interoperable, and sovereignty-driven digital ecosystem. This aligns with national priorities aimed at strengthening public sector performance, modernising the economy, and enhancing the country’s attractiveness for investment.

The initiative forms part of the government’s strategic direction under President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, which positions digital technology as a key driver of development and state efficiency.

ANINF’s engagement at the conference reinforces its role as a central technical institution in shaping Gabon’s digital future and supporting the continent’s broader transformation agenda.
