Togolaises In Science
participated in the 2026 edition of Togo IT Days, marking the second
consecutive year the organisation has taken part in the technology event.
Held in Lomé, the event
provided a platform for the organisation to showcase its community and
initiatives aimed at supporting women and girls in science, technology,
engineering and mathematics (STEM).
Throughout the two-day
event, the Togolaises In Science exhibition stand served as a meeting point for
participants interested in learning about the organisation’s activities and
exploring potential collaborations.
Members of the organisation,
including Diane Fumey, Loreta Bekoutare and Dossougan Monique, took turns
managing the stand and engaging with participants during the event.
Togolaises In Science
members also participated in several sessions as speakers, moderators and
facilitators. Matina Gaël Egbidi delivered opening remarks and moderated an
interactive “Ask Me Anything” session that allowed participants to engage
directly with speakers.
Belynda Latre E. Lawson
Betum moderated a panel examining investment flows in Africa in 2026, which
also featured Doris Djaglo as a speaker.
Fadimatou Ayewa participated
as a speaker in an Oxford Debate focused on whether African countries should
replicate the Silicon Valley model or develop their own approach to technology
and innovation.
Edwige d’Almeida also hosted
the Business Challenge Live session during the event.
The organisation said its
participation provided opportunities to engage with visitors, introduce its
initiatives and explore new partnerships aimed at advancing opportunities for
Togolese women in STEM.
Togolaises In Science also
acknowledged the organisers of Togo IT Days and Commissioner General Dr Fleur
Agbessi-Awussi for continuing the partnership and supporting its participation
for a second consecutive year.
The organisation said it
remains committed to creating spaces and opportunities that enable more
Togolese women and girls to participate and advance in STEM fields.
