MoMo
from MTN Uganda has reaffirmed its support
for Uganda’s digital transformation agenda following an engagement with the Ministry of ICT & National Guidance on
digitising trade through postal services.
The discussions focused on expanding access to
services offered by Posta Uganda Limited
through mobile money platforms, with an emphasis on improving convenience,
efficiency, and accessibility for users.

Through the MoMo platform, Ugandans can now access a
range of postal services by dialling a dedicated shortcode, enabling them to
purchase and renew postal addresses, buy postcards, and pay for Post Bus
tickets without visiting physical locations.
MTN representatives highlighted that
integrating mobile financial services with postal systems is a key step toward
modernising traditional service delivery channels while maintaining the trust
and reliability associated with postal operations.

The engagement also brought together
MTN Uganda officials, including Senior Manager for Products Development and
Innovations Nelson Bamwine and Manager for Regulatory and Corporate Affairs
Patricia Nabasirye, who contributed to discussions on enhancing collaboration
between telecom operators and public institutions.
The
initiative forms part of broader efforts to strengthen interoperability across
sectors and accelerate the adoption of digital services in Uganda’s economy.
