Airtel
Nigeria has held a customer engagement forum in Lagos aimed at addressing
concerns around data usage, value, and service quality.
The
event, themed “Understanding Your Data: How to Take Control,” took place at the
Lagos Travel Inn and brought together Airtel Nigeria leadership, customers, and
representatives from the Nigerian Communications Commission.

The
forum provided an opportunity for direct interaction between customers and
telecom regulators, with discussions focused on improving transparency and
helping users better understand how their data is consumed. Presentations at
the event highlighted the impact of high-definition and 4K streaming,
cloud-based applications, and background mobile activity on data usage.
Airtel
Nigeria also demonstrated tools designed to enhance user control, including
daily data usage alerts via SMS and tailored data bundles aimed at improving
cost efficiency for subscribers. The company further outlined ongoing efforts
to strengthen its network infrastructure to deliver faster and more reliable
data services.

Officials
from the Nigerian Communications Commission, including Freda Ruth
Bruce-Bennett, Director of the Consumer Affairs Bureau, and Temitope
Alli-Balogun, Assistant Director, participated in the forum, emphasizing the
importance of consumer protection and regulatory oversight in the
telecommunications sector.
The
engagement reflects broader industry efforts to improve customer experience and
build trust through increased awareness, transparency, and service optimization
in Nigeria’s digital communications market.
