Togo
is advancing the use of digital technology and artificial intelligence to
improve healthcare delivery, as part of a broader strategy to support national
development and innovation.
Cina
Lawson, Minister
of Public Sector Efficiency and Digital Transformation, said the government is
prioritising the integration of digital solutions to enhance access to care,
improve service efficiency and address structural challenges within the health
system.

The initiative is being driven through sector-focused
innovation challenges organised by the Togo Data
Lab, aimed at identifying and supporting locally developed solutions
tailored to national needs. This year’s edition, conducted in collaboration
with the Ministry of Health, focused on health technology innovations designed
to optimise patient care pathways.
At the grand finale held on March 27,
the Award of Excellence in Tech x Health was presented to SILINA TECH for its
SILINA MRS project, a medical management software capable of operating without
a stable internet connection. The solution is expected to address connectivity
challenges and improve healthcare service delivery, particularly in underserved
areas.

Authorities indicated that winning
projects will receive one year of support to facilitate testing, deployment and
gradual integration into the national health system, reflecting a shift toward
scaling practical, homegrown innovations.
The
government says the approach underscores its commitment to identifying,
supporting and expanding solutions that can sustainably improve access to
healthcare across the country.
