Kenya
is strengthening its position in global cybersecurity discussions through
participation in the InCyber Forum Europe 2026, a major international gathering
focused on digital trust and secure digital ecosystems.
Leading the Kenyan delegation is John Kipchumba Tanui, Principal Secretary for
the State Department of ICT and Digital Economy, who is engaging in high-level
dialogues on global cyber strategies and digital dependencies.
The forum, which has attracted more than 20,000
participants, over 700 exhibitors and representatives from more than 100
countries, is centred on the theme “Mastering / Securing our Digital
Dependencies,” reflecting the growing global focus on resilience, shared
infrastructure and international cooperation.

Tanui is advocating for a balanced
and hybrid approach to cyber governance that is secure, open and collaborative,
while ensuring that digital dependencies are strategically managed. He is
joined by officials including Michael Odhiambo of the ICT Authority, Pius
Cheruiyot, and John Mutunga, alongside other representatives from Kenya’s
cybersecurity ecosystem.
Kenya’s participation aligns with its
broader digital transformation agenda, which includes the development of a
Digital Superhighway, investment in secure infrastructure, and the promotion of
innovation and skills development. The country is positioning itself as a
trusted digital and innovation hub within Africa.
The
engagement underscores the importance of international collaboration in
addressing cybersecurity challenges, as countries work together to build
resilient and secure digital ecosystems in an increasingly interconnected
world.
