Jumia engages government on strengthening e-commerce framework in Côte d’Ivoire

Jumia Côte d'Ivoire has taken part in high-level discussions aimed at strengthening the regulatory and operational framework of the country’s digital commerce sector.

A delegation from the Association of E-Merchants of Côte d'Ivoire was received by Djibril Ouattara, Minister of Digital Transition and Technological Innovation, to deliberate on key issues affecting the growth of e-commerce in the country.

The meeting focused on challenges related to the legal and regulatory environment, as well as the need for improved collection and sharing of statistical data within the sector. Stakeholders highlighted the importance of establishing a clear and supportive framework to enhance transparency, build trust and attract investment.

Participants noted that the engagement represents a significant step toward the professionalisation of Côte d’Ivoire’s e-commerce ecosystem, with a focus on fostering innovation and sustainable growth.

The discussions also underscore the increasing role of digital platforms in national development strategies, as the country continues efforts to strengthen its digital economy.
