Rwanda
is deepening its collaboration with the United
Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization to advance the
adoption and governance of artificial intelligence and digital skills
development.

The Minister of ICT and Innovation, Paula Ingabire, held discussions with Louise Haxthausen on the sidelines of the 4th
East African Community Regional Science, Technology and Innovation Conference
in Kigali.
The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation in
key areas including AI capacity building, policy development, and broader
digital skills initiatives aimed at supporting Rwanda’s digital transformation
agenda. Both parties also explored opportunities to promote responsible and
inclusive use of artificial intelligence across sectors.

The
engagement reflects ongoing efforts by Rwanda and UNESCO to align on frameworks
that support innovation while ensuring ethical governance and equitable access
to emerging technologies.
