Tanzania has been named among the Rising Stars in the Universal Postal Union’s
(UPU) 2025 Integrated Index for Postal Development (2IPD), recognising
countries that recorded the greatest overall year-on-year improvement in postal
development.
Tanzania joins Egypt and
Lithuania in the Rising Stars category, according to the UPU, which assesses
postal development worldwide using four indicators: reach, reliability,
resilience and relevance.
The 2IPD provides a
composite overview of postal development, covering 181 countries in 2025.
Australia, Austria, France,
Germany, Japan, Switzerland and Thailand were named Leaders in Postal
Excellence, representing the top-performing countries in the index.
China, Costa Rica,
Mauritius, Oman and Ukraine were recognised as Regional Champions for leading
their respective regions in postal development.
The index provides a global
assessment of postal development, highlighting countries that demonstrate
strong performance and those making significant progress in the sector.
