Oromia Bank has launched its
first Visa cards, introducing three prepaid card products to expand payment
options for its customers and connect them to global digital payments.
Yared Endale, Visa’s Head of
Eastern Africa and Country Manager for Ethiopia, announced the launch,
describing it as another milestone in Ethiopia’s digital payments journey.
The launch was achieved
through collaboration between Oromia Bank, Premier Switch Solutions S.C. (PSS)
and Visa.
Endale said the initiative
went beyond introducing new card products, highlighting the role of
partnerships, shared ambition and innovation in expanding access to digital
payments.
He congratulated the teams
at Oromia Bank, PSS and Visa for bringing the launch to fruition.
The initiative forms part of
ongoing efforts to build a more connected, inclusive and digitally enabled
financial ecosystem in Ethiopia, giving customers additional ways to make
payments and connect with the global economy.
