Plan International Cameroon has visited the Zamengoe Data Center operated by Cameroon Telecommunications (CAMTEL) as part of efforts to gain insight into the country’s digital infrastructure and data hosting capabilities.

The visit, held on Thursday, August 13, 2026, brought an IT team from Plan International Cameroon to the facility following an invitation initiated by CAMTEL’s Special Commercial Agency of Yaoundé, with support from the Fixed Business Unit.

The delegation was taken through key components of the Zamengoe Data Center, including the energy room, IT room, transport room, server room and supervision center.

Discussions during the visit focused on CAMTEL’s data hosting, storage and security services, as well as the infrastructure’s capacity to support organizations requiring reliable and secure digital systems.

The Zamengoe Data Center is a Tier III-certified facility, designed to provide high availability, service continuity and redundancy for critical systems. Its infrastructure also incorporates security measures intended to support the protection of data and strengthen digital sovereignty.

CAMTEL said the facility is positioned to serve as a trusted infrastructure partner for institutions and businesses seeking to strengthen their digital operations, resilience and capacity for innovation.
