Vodafone M-Pesa Mozambique has hosted a meeting organised by the Mozambican Association of Banks (AMB), bringing together financial institutions to discuss regulatory compliance, financial crime prevention and measures to strengthen the integrity of Mozambique’s financial system.

The meeting provided a platform for financial institutions to exchange experiences, harmonise methodologies and address common challenges facing the sector amid the continued digitalisation of financial services.

Key discussions focused on regulatory compliance, the prevention and combating of money laundering and terrorist financing, as well as fraud management.

The engagements are aimed at strengthening risk management practices and promoting greater consistency in the way financial institutions identify and respond to emerging threats.

Vodacom Mozambique said collaboration among financial-sector stakeholders is increasingly important as digital financial services expand and new risks emerge.

The company noted that maintaining customer confidence requires financial institutions and other industry players to combine technological innovation with strong commitments to integrity, transparency and customer protection.

Vodafone M-Pesa said it would continue supporting partnerships and platforms for dialogue that contribute to the development of Mozambique’s financial sector and broader economic and social development.
