MobiCare, led by Dr.
Abdullah Osman Koroma, has emerged as the grand prize winner of the 2026 Orange
Social Venture Prize (OSVP) in Sierra Leone, securing NLe 200,000 for its
innovation.
The announcement was made
during the eighth edition of the OSVP Pitch Night hosted by Orange Sierra Leone,
bringing together entrepreneurs and innovators to showcase technology-driven
solutions aimed at addressing social and economic challenges.
Mi Fam, led by Fatmata
Mariama Koroma, won the Women’s Prize and received NLe 120,000 in recognition
of its innovation and leadership.
The competition provided a
platform for Sierra Leonean entrepreneurs to present their ideas and
demonstrate how their ventures can contribute to inclusive and sustainable
development.
The Pitch Night was attended
by Deputy Minister of Technical and Higher Education Sarjoh Aziz Kamara, Orange
Sierra Leone Chief Executive Officer Aïcha Touré and Chargé d’Affaires of
France Jean Lamy.
The OSVP forms part of
Orange’s broader efforts to support entrepreneurs and social innovators across
its operating markets by providing funding and visibility to ventures
developing solutions with potential social and economic impact.
Orange Sierra Leone
congratulated the winners and finalists, recognising their contribution to
building a more innovative, inclusive and sustainable future for the country.
