Orange Botswana, through the
Orange Foundation and Orange Digital Center, has held the third edition of the
ODCxBotho Employability Fair, bringing together students and young people for
activities focused on translating digital skills and learning into practical
workplace experience.
Held under the theme “From
Learning to Doing,” the two-day event combined hands-on innovation, career
guidance, personal branding and engagement between students and industry
professionals.
The fair opened with a
keynote address delivered jointly by Modiri Nlanda, Director of People and
Social Impact at Orange Botswana, and Botho University’s Deputy
Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Employability and Technology.
The event followed a Build
Day during which 28 participants, organised into five teams, worked to
transform ideas into tangible outcomes within a single day. The activity was
designed to give participants practical experience in developing solutions and working
collaboratively to address challenges.
A panel discussion on
personal branding and digital visibility formed another key part of the fair,
bringing together professionals from brand strategy, broadcasting, youth
advocacy and the student community. The discussion focused on how young people
can strengthen their professional profiles and improve their visibility in an
increasingly digital employment environment.
Orange Digital Center also
maintained an exhibition presence at the event, where its team engaged directly
with students, provided career guidance and gathered feedback on their
experiences and expectations.
Orange Botswana said the
initiative reflects its commitment to developing practical skills and creating
opportunities that enable young people to apply what they learn in real-world
settings.
