MTN Uganda has launched MTNTV, a new digital entertainment platform designed to bring live television, radio, movies, sports and other digital content together in a single streaming experience.

The platform, launched under MTN Uganda’s digital services portfolio, aims to expand access to entertainment while creating new opportunities for Ugandan creators, including filmmakers, musicians, broadcasters, educators and digital storytellers.

Speaking on the launch, MTN Uganda Chief Executive Officer Mulinge Sylvia said MTNTV represents more than just another streaming service, highlighting its role in enabling greater participation in the digital economy.

She said the platform is designed to help creators reach wider audiences, build businesses around their content and use technology as a tool for innovation and economic empowerment.

“Digital inclusion is moving beyond access to technology; it is about enabling people to participate, create and benefit from the digital economy,” Mulinge said.

She encouraged Ugandan and African creators to use the platform to share their stories with local and global audiences, noting that African content has the potential to drive inspiration, cultural visibility and economic growth.

MTNTV provides users with access to a variety of entertainment options, including live TV channels, radio stations, movies and sports content, through a seamless digital experience available on mobile devices.

The launch forms part of MTN Uganda’s broader efforts to support digital transformation by developing platforms that connect consumers, businesses and creators while promoting local innovation and content production.

Mulinge said the platform represents a new opportunity for Uganda’s creative industry, adding that the country’s stories, talent and experiences deserve greater visibility on the global stage.
