The UniPods Hardware Program
Fab Lab Training on Autodesk has commenced in Togo, bringing together Fab
Managers from Benin, Guinea, Mali, Mauritania and Togo for a week-long
programme focused on strengthening digital fabrication skills and supporting
innovation across Africa’s agricultural sector.
The training is designed to
equip Fab Managers with advanced capabilities in computer-aided design (CAD),
computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), 3D modelling, prototyping and other digital
fabrication techniques that will enable them to better support innovators
within their respective countries.
Organised through the
UniPods ecosystem, the programme aims to build the capacity of local innovation
hubs to help young entrepreneurs and technology developers transform ideas into
practical solutions addressing challenges in agriculture and other critical
sectors.
Following the completion of
the training, participating Fab Managers will return to their respective
UniPods to mentor innovators and provide technical support in developing
locally driven solutions through the use of emerging fabrication technologies.
The initiative is being
implemented through collaboration between UniPod Togo: Pôle Universitaire
d’Innovation et de Technologie, Autodesk, the University of Lomé and
participating UniPods from across the region.
