MobileMoney Fintech Limited
(MMFL), the operator of MTN MoMo Ghana, has outlined the need for the next
phase of digital finance to focus on creating deeper value for customers beyond
expanding access to financial services.
Speaking at the inaugural
Ecobank-Joy Business Financial Dialogue Series, Chief Executive Officer of
MMFL, Shaibu Haruna, said Ghana’s digital finance ecosystem has evolved
significantly, with the industry now moving towards solutions that promote
financial health and improve the everyday experiences of users.
He noted that while
expanding access to financial services has been a key driver of Ghana’s digital
finance transformation, the current focus should be on developing innovative
solutions that address customers’ changing needs and enable them to manage their
finances more effectively.
According to him, the future
of digital finance will depend on building customer-centred platforms that
support individuals, businesses and communities through convenient, reliable
and inclusive financial services.
MMFL continues to invest in
digital financial solutions aimed at strengthening financial inclusion and
supporting Ghana’s broader digital economy agenda. The company said it remains
committed to driving innovation within the fintech sector and creating opportunities
that empower customers through technology.
