Benin and Ethiopia are
exploring opportunities to strengthen cooperation in cybersecurity, indigenous
technology development, and digital transformation following a high-level visit
by Benin’s Minister of Digital Transformation and Innovation, H.E. Dr. Mahouna
Akplogan, to Ethiopia’s Information Network Security Administration (INSA).
The Beninese delegation was
hosted by INSA Director General H.E. Tigist Hamid during a working visit aimed
at gaining insights into Ethiopia’s progress in developing homegrown
technologies and advancing digital sovereignty.
During the visit, the
delegation toured key innovation facilities, including the AeroAbay Drone
Manufacturing Center, where they learned about Ethiopia’s efforts in developing
locally driven technological solutions.
Discussions between the two
sides focused on expanding bilateral collaboration in cybersecurity, technology
development, and digital capacity building as both countries pursue their
digital transformation agendas.
The Beninese delegation
commended Ethiopia’s achievements in cybersecurity and innovation, highlighting
the potential for deeper cooperation and knowledge exchange between the two
nations.
