Egypt
is positioning itself as a leading destination for global digital services
investment following expansion plans announced by Systems Limited to transform
its Egyptian headquarters into one of the company’s largest global delivery
centres.
The
plans were discussed during a meeting between Egypt’s Minister of
Communications and Information Technology, Raafat Hindi, and Asif Peer, Chief
Executive Officer and Managing Director of Systems Limited, a global IT
services and consulting company.
The
meeting focused on Systems Limited’s growth strategy in Egypt, increasing
digital service exports from the country and expanding the company’s ability to
serve regional and international markets.
Also
present at the meeting were Ahmed El-Zaher, CEO of the Information Technology
Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), Khurram Majeed, General Manager of Systems
Group for the Middle East and Africa, Ahmed Kandil, Managing Director of
Systems Egypt, and Mahmoud Safrata, Deputy CEO of ITIDA.
Systems
Limited recently opened its headquarters at Smart Village in Egypt, where the
centre currently employs around 250 engineers specializing in software
development, information technology services and outsourcing. The company plans
to expand its workforce by creating more than 380 additional job opportunities
in the near future.
Minister
Raafat Hindi said Egypt is making significant progress towards becoming a
global hub for digital services exports, supported by investments in human
capital development and specialized technology skills.
He
noted that Egypt’s competitiveness in the outsourcing sector is increasingly
driven not only by the availability of skilled professionals but also by the
country’s ability to deliver advanced value-added services in areas such as
software development, artificial intelligence and data analytics.
According
to the minister, the continued expansion of international technology companies
in Egypt demonstrates growing confidence in the country’s digital ecosystem and
its ability to support global operations.
Systems
Limited officials highlighted that the company’s Egyptian centre provides a
wide range of technology solutions, including software development, digital
transformation, artificial intelligence, data analytics, systems integration
and outsourcing services.
The
centre supports clients across various industries, including banking,
telecommunications and financial technology, serving markets in the Arab region
and beyond.
Asif
Peer said Egypt’s strong technology talent base, strategic location and growing
digital ecosystem have made it an attractive destination for global technology
investments. He revealed that the company aims to make its Egyptian operations
its second-largest global centre after its headquarters in Pakistan.
He
added that approximately 85 percent of Systems Limited’s business is
export-oriented, with the company continuing to expand through a flexible
business model designed to respond to evolving technology trends and customer
demands worldwide.
The
discussions also covered cooperation between Systems Limited and ITIDA,
including initiatives such as the “Qualification for Employment” programme,
which prepares young Egyptians with technical and language skills required by
technology companies.
The
programme is part of Egypt’s broader strategy to develop a sustainable pipeline
of skilled professionals and strengthen its position as a major global
destination for business process outsourcing and IT services.
Systems
Limited, headquartered in Lahore, Pakistan, operates across more than 15
countries and employs over 10,000 technology and digital transformation
specialists. The company provides services including software development,
systems integration, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, data solutions
and outsourcing.
