The Zimbabwe National Geospatial and Space Agency has hosted a delegation from the African Union Development Agency as part of a learning and benchmarking mission focused on human capital development and innovation systems.

The delegation was welcomed by Pianos Gweme, Acting Director General of ZINGSA, during a visit aimed at fostering knowledge exchange and strengthening Africa's innovation ecosystem.

The benchmarking mission forms part of AUDA-NEPAD's broader efforts to identify and promote best practices in developing human capital, advancing scientific research, and building innovation-driven institutions across the continent. By engaging with national agencies such as ZINGSA, the initiative seeks to enhance collaboration and support the development of policies and programmes that strengthen Africa's capacity in science, technology and innovation.

As Zimbabwe's national space agency, ZINGSA plays a key role in advancing geospatial technologies, earth observation applications, satellite data utilization and space-related research to support national development priorities. The agency's work contributes to sectors such as agriculture, environmental monitoring, disaster management, infrastructure planning and natural resource management.
