MoMo Zambia has held a high-level meeting with the Bank of Zambia to explore
opportunities for expanding digital financial services and strengthening
financial inclusion in the country.
The
courtesy call brought together the MTN MoMo Chief Executive Officer, Komba
Malukutila and members of the executive committee with senior officials from
the central bank. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Governor – Administration
Rekha Mhango and attended by executive directors of the institution.

Discussions
focused on aligning strategic priorities between the mobile financial services
provider and the regulator, with MTN MoMo presenting its achievements and
outlining its vision for scaling digital finance solutions across Zambia.
Both
parties identified areas for deeper collaboration aimed at supporting
innovation while ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks. The engagement
also emphasised the importance of transparency, governance and coordinated
efforts in building a resilient digital financial ecosystem.

Officials
noted that close cooperation between service providers and regulators is
essential to sustaining growth in the sector and delivering inclusive financial
services to underserved populations.
The
meeting concluded with a shared commitment to advancing financial inclusion,
strengthening regulatory alignment and supporting the continued development of
Zambia’s digital finance landscape.
