Speaking during the JOJ Innovation Challenge 2026 Hackathon in Dakar, Ba moderated a panel discussion focused on Senegal’s digital ambitions and collective responsibilities in the lead-up to the global sporting event.

The hackathon attracted nearly 900 applications, with 100 young participants selected to develop innovative solutions aligned with the objectives of the Youth Olympic Games. The JOJ Innovation Challenge forms part of broader efforts to leverage digital technologies and youth-driven innovation in preparation for Dakar 2026, which is expected to showcase Senegal’s capabilities on the international stage.

Stakeholders said continued collaboration between the private sector, government and young innovators will be essential to delivering a successful and technologically enabled event.
