The
Central Bank of Nigeria and the Nigerian Communications Commission have signed
a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at strengthening collaboration on data
sharing and information management.
The
agreement was formalised, at the CBN Head Office in Abuja, with the Governor of
the Central Bank of Nigeria, Olayemi Cardoso, and the Executive Vice Chairman
and Chief Executive Officer of the NCC, Aminu Maida, leading the signing.

The
MoU is expected to enhance coordination between the financial and
telecommunications regulators, supporting improved data exchange mechanisms and
more effective regulatory oversight. The collaboration is also aimed at
strengthening information management frameworks across both institutions.
The
initiative reflects ongoing efforts to align regulatory functions in Nigeria’s
financial and digital sectors, as authorities seek to improve transparency,
efficiency, and data-driven decision-making in support of economic development.
