MoMo from MTN Group has convened Chairpersons from across its Group Fintech markets in Johannesburg for a high-level engagement session focused on strengthening governance, alignment, and leadership across its operations.

The Chairperson’s Engagement Session brought together board leaders from multiple markets to reinforce shared stewardship and deepen collaboration at a time of increasing complexity within the fintech landscape.

Group Fintech Chairperson Herman Bosman emphasized the importance of values-driven leadership at board level, noting that effective chairpersonship requires clarity of purpose, sound judgment, and the ability to foster trust while guiding organisations through evolving market conditions.

Group Fintech CEO Serigne Dioum highlighted the central role of trust in building a scalable fintech platform, stating that alignment at the leadership level is critical to delivering consistent, responsible, and reliable services across diverse markets.

The session also featured keynote remarks from Reuel Khoza, who underscored the importance of principled and reflective leadership in shaping organisational culture and strengthening institutional trust. He encouraged chairpersons to apply governance principles actively in guiding boards and decision-making processes.

According to MTN MoMo, the engagement forms part of ongoing efforts to build a resilient and trusted fintech platform, anchored in strong governance frameworks, aligned leadership, and sustainable growth strategies across its footprint.
