The
Kingdom of Lesotho has welcomed a high-level delegation from the Commonwealth
Telecommunications Organisation (CTO) ahead of the 64th Council Meeting and
Commonwealth Digital Roadshow scheduled to take place from April 20 to 24,
2026.
The
visit, led by the Secretary General of the CTO, marks the official lead-up to
the landmark digital engagement, which will be hosted at the Avani Hotel and is
expected to bring together policymakers, regulators, industry leaders, and
innovators from across the Commonwealth.

Since
arriving in the country, the CTO delegation has held a series of strategic
meetings with key stakeholders in Lesotho’s telecommunications and digital
ecosystem, focusing on strengthening partnerships and aligning national and
regional digital priorities.
Discussions
with the Lesotho Communications Authority centered on regulatory innovation,
digital inclusion, and creating an enabling environment for ICT sector growth.
The delegation also engaged with the Minister of Information, Communications,
Science and Technology, Nthati Moorosi, to explore opportunities to accelerate
the country’s digital transformation agenda and deepen collaboration with the
CTO.
In
addition, talks with the British High Commissioner to Lesotho, Martine Sobey,
reaffirmed shared priorities around digital development, capacity building, and
cooperation within the Commonwealth framework.

Officials
indicated that the upcoming Council Meeting and Digital Roadshow will provide a
platform for dialogue, knowledge exchange, and partnership-building aimed at
advancing inclusive and sustainable digital transformation across member
states.
The
engagements underscore the CTO’s continued commitment to supporting countries
in leveraging digital technologies for socio-economic development as Lesotho
prepares to host the high-level gathering.
