The
Mauritius Research and Innovation Council (MRIC) has hosted a seminar focused
on leveraging data-driven technologies to support sustainable urban development
and innovation.
Held
at MRIC headquarters in Ebène, the event brought together industry experts,
innovators, and key stakeholders to explore the theme “Turning Data into
Impact: Smart Parking and Sustainability Intelligence Platforms.”

The
seminar highlighted practical applications of artificial intelligence and
digital platforms in addressing urban challenges. ParkSmart presented an
AI-powered smart parking solution that uses computer vision to optimise traffic
flow, reduce congestion, and improve overall urban mobility.
Another
key presentation was delivered by Kcious – Next Generation of Sustainability,
which showcased a digital platform designed to help organisations enhance their
Environmental, Economic, Social, and Governance (EESG) performance through
data-driven insights and analytics.

Participants
engaged in discussions on the role of emerging technologies in building smarter
cities, improving operational efficiency, and supporting sustainable
development goals. The event also provided opportunities for knowledge exchange
and networking among stakeholders committed to advancing innovation in
Mauritius.
MRIC
noted that such engagements are part of broader efforts to foster collaboration
and promote the adoption of innovative solutions that address both
environmental and urban development challenges.
