Rwanda explores AI innovation to strengthen maternal and newborn health

The Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of ICT and Innovation, Eraste Rurangwa has received Mrs. Ayako Kasai, Chief Executive Officer of Spiker, for discussions focused on the use of artificial intelligence in improving maternal and newborn healthcare services.

Eraste Rurangwa hosted the courtesy call, which highlighted Spiker’s AI-powered maternity monitoring technology and its potential application within Rwanda’s health system.

The discussions explored opportunities to leverage emerging digital health solutions to enhance early detection, monitoring, and response in maternal care, with the broader aim of improving health outcomes for mothers and infants.

Ayako Kasai presented the company’s technology and its relevance to strengthening healthcare delivery through data-driven and AI-enabled systems.
