The Secretary-General of the
International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Doreen Bogdan-Martin has emphasised
the central role of technology in enhancing the United Nations’ efficiency and
connectivity.
Speaking at the UN80 General
Assembly briefing, she outlined how consolidating the UN’s digital core and
accelerating innovation across its systems can drive system-wide impact,
enabling the organization to operate more effectively in addressing global
challenges.
Bogdan-Martin stressed that
strategic adoption of digital solutions is crucial for building a future-ready
UN capable of delivering on its mission in an increasingly interconnected
world.
