President Emmerson Mnangagwa has visited the Accra Compost and Recycling Plant
as part of efforts to deepen collaboration in sustainable waste management and
environmental innovation.

The
visit was hosted by Joseph Siaw Agyepong, Executive Chairman of the Jospong
Group of Companies, which operates the facility.
According
to Agyepong, the engagement reflects a shared vision among African countries to
leverage collaboration in addressing development challenges through innovation.
He noted that initiatives such as waste recycling and composting present
opportunities for job creation while contributing to environmental
sustainability.

The
Accra Compost and Recycling Plant is one of Ghana’s flagship waste management
facilities, designed to convert solid waste into reusable materials and organic
compost, supporting broader efforts toward a circular economy.
The
visit underscores growing cooperation between Ghana and Zimbabwe in exploring
practical, homegrown solutions to environmental and economic challenges across
the continent.
