Guinea has taken a significant step in advancing its digital transformation agenda with the official launch of the DouIA2 initiative and the signing of the “Manifesto of Conakry” at the Cité des Sciences et de l'Innovation in Conakry.

The event marked the conclusion of the DouIA1 phase and brought together government officials, researchers, and stakeholders to outline a shared vision for integrating artificial intelligence and digital data into the country’s development strategy.

Speaking at the ceremony, Rose Pola Pricemou highlighted the strategic importance of leveraging digital technologies as a central driver of national transformation, economic growth, and digital sovereignty.

The initiative is aligned with broader reforms undertaken under the leadership of Mamadi Doumbouya, aimed at strengthening Guinea’s digital economy and modernizing key sectors.

Officials acknowledged the contributions of Diaka Sidibé and former minister Alpha Bacar Barry in initiating and advancing the programme in collaboration with the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications, and the Digital Economy.

The DouIA initiative seeks to position artificial intelligence and data as foundational tools for development, fostering innovation, improving governance, and enabling evidence-based decision-making across sectors.

With the transition to DouIA2, stakeholders emphasized a renewed focus on implementation, aiming to translate strategic vision into concrete projects that deliver measurable impact for the country.

The launch underscores Guinea’s commitment to building a structured and forward-looking digital ecosystem, with artificial intelligence playing a central role in shaping its future development trajectory.
