Senior
executives of MTN Group have held high-level discussions with the Ministry of
Technology and Science in Zambia, focusing on advancing the country’s digital
transformation agenda and strengthening collaboration.
The
meeting, which took place on Wednesday, brought together MTN Group’s Chief
Commercial Officer, Selorm Adadevoh, and Chief Technology and Information
Officer, Charles Molapisi, with Zambia’s Minister of Technology and Science,
Felix Mutati, and Permanent Secretary, Dr. Brilliant Habeenzu.

Discussions
centred on MTN’s Ambition 2030 strategy, the performance of MTN Zambia, and the
broader role of the private sector in supporting Zambia’s digital
transformation priorities. The engagement also explored opportunities for
deeper collaboration between the telecommunications operator and the government
in expanding digital infrastructure, enhancing connectivity, and driving
innovation across key sectors.
MTN
reaffirmed its commitment to partnering with the Zambian government to
accelerate digital inclusion and ensure wider access to modern, connected
services. The company emphasized its focus on enabling socioeconomic
development through technology, aligning its long-term strategy with national
development goals.

The
meeting underscores ongoing efforts by both public and private stakeholders to
strengthen Zambia’s digital ecosystem and leverage technology as a catalyst for
economic growth.
