The
Just AI Conference 2026 has officially commenced in Johannesburg, bringing
together a diverse group of stakeholders to explore the role of artificial
intelligence within African contexts.
The
event, organized by Research ICT Africa, is being hosted at the Gordon
Institute of Business Science and has attracted multidisciplinary participants,
including researchers, policymakers, industry leaders, and civil society
actors.

Organizers
described the conference as a platform for engaging critical discussions on the
development and deployment of artificial intelligence grounded in principles of
justice, inclusivity, and African realities.
The
programme is expected to feature a series of sessions focused on examining how
AI can be harnessed responsibly to address socio-economic challenges while
ensuring equitable outcomes across the continent.
