Orange
Money SL has launched a new Mastercard product aimed at expanding access to
digital payments and global financial services in Sierra Leone.
The
Orange Money Mastercard enables users to make online purchases, pay for
subscriptions, and conduct international transactions directly from their
mobile money wallets. The initiative is expected to address longstanding
barriers to digital payments in the country, where access to payment cards
remains limited.

According
to the company, fewer than two percent of adults in Sierra Leone currently have
access to cards for online transactions, highlighting a significant gap in
financial inclusion.
The
new offering is being implemented in partnership with Zenith Bank, Mastercard,
and Paymentology.
Orange
Money said the launch is part of broader efforts to deepen financial inclusion
by enabling users not only to access funds but also to participate more fully
in the digital economy.

The
company added that the solution is designed to provide secure and convenient
payment options, allowing customers to connect to global platforms and services
while supporting the growth of digital commerce in Sierra Leone.
